Skipper:
Qualifications: – MCA Skippers Licence
Description:
The role of Skipper is hands-on and often involves working as part of the maintenance team. The Skipper must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. They must work well under pressure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of an event.
Responsibilities:
- To be certified as a MCA Skipper for Inland Waterways Level 2 and adhere to MCA Policy & Guidelines
- To skipper vessel for up to 124 passengers and ensure the safety of crew, passengers and vessel
- Ensure that health and safety is adhered too at all times.
- To support the owner with all maintenance of the vessel externally and internally.
- To ensure that the vessels are in an excellent presentable order externally prior to every cruise.
- To ensure that all documentation is completed on each cruise and that safety checks take place prior to departure.
- To supervise staff as necessary

Hours: on an ad hoc basis
Mate/ Trainee Skipper:
Qualifications: – willingness to train towards Boatmaster
Description:
Maintain helm during trips, assist Skipper in day to day checks of vessels and assist in the general running, upkeep and maintenance of our vessels, including, cleaning, engine maintenance, seasonal paint prep and top coating.
Responsibilities:
- Helming duties on our passenger vessels assisting to ensure the safety of crew, passengers and vessel
- Ensure that health and safety is adhered too at all times.
- To support the owner with all maintenance of the vessel externally and internally.
- To ensure that the vessels are in an excellent presentable order externally prior to every cruise.
- To help ensure that all documentation is completed on each cruise and that safety checks take place prior to departure.

Hours: on an ad hoc basis
Bar/Boat Crew
We are looking for outgoing friendly staff to help with the day to day running of the Princess Katherine for a variety of events. This is a varied and interesting role which involves dealing with customers and the need to be flexible in terms of the hours required to work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the skipper with day to day upkeep of the vessel
- Bar service and upkeep
- Assist in mooring procedure, and vessel safety procedures.
- Event set-up and service
Previous experience working on a boat is not necessary, all necessary training will be provided. Previous bar experience is required.
