Take a Manchester Ship Canal cruise through the heart of the North West’s industrial past. Throughout the year we provide the opportunity to make a grand tour between two of the most important points on the Manchester Ship Canal. A great two part journey with a four hour cruise of the canal and the chance for lunch and to delve further into it’s past at the National Waterways Museum.
On the 30 mile journey on the Manchester Ship Canal between the Salford Quays and Ellesmere port passengers will travel through 4 locks dropping an average of sixteen feet each time, passing through numerous swing and lift bridges including Grade II Barton Aquaduct bridge as we travel between the between the former industrial heart of Manchester where large ships still travel through to the historical Ellesmere Port and the National Waterways Museum.
Travelling aboard the Princess Katherine our passengers have the opportunity to enjoy the view from the comfortable cabin or from the deck. Fully stocked bar onboard.
Passengers enjoy commentary on the 4 hour cruise describing the great industry that built the canal and the exciting future it still holds.
At both Salford Quays and Ellesmere Port there is an opportunity to explore the surrounding area and the attractions that they have to offer before a coach will pick you up for your return journey.
