The dastardly Irwell Pirates have been joined by the Mersey Mermaids for another mutiny on the Princess Katherine. Pirate Skai brings another kids TAKEOVER to the Manchester Ship Canal this October.

On an hour long cruise from Salford Quays the Mermaids & dastardly Irwell Pirates bring fun and games to the canal for the ultimate kids event this winter.

What’s happening

  • Fancy dress
  • bag of treasure from the Mermaid’s Grotto
  • Intimidating pirate scowls, & mermaid sign along
  • Pirate Skai game extravaganza
  • ‘Shiver me Timbers’ rum punch for adults (drink with caution…)
  • Weavel biscuits and juice drinks for the little 
  • The activities and treasure is aimed at 2 – 10 years but big kids are welcome.
  • Adult participation is required – this is a Pirate Skai rule.
  • The children’s behaviour is the responsibility of the attending adult/s. Should the child/children not behave in an appropriate manner and considerably lower the enjoyment of others, the adult/s will be asked to remove the child/children from the main area of the vessel


The Princess Katherine does not have disabled access. There is one step up and four steps down in order to board the vessel.


The Princess Katherine is full heated, equipped with an onboard licenced bar and two toilets.


The Princess Katherine has booth seating for six to a table, we do not allocate seats and families may be required to share a table.

Set Dates

all sailings are subject to the weather and the condition of the River Irwell. Under 2 are welcome on board but do not require a ticket but may have to be seated on an adults lap.
