Where do you operate from?

At the moment we are running just from Salford Quays due to construction work in the city centre.

Salford Quays, we pick up from under the Millenium footbridge in front of the Lowry Outlet Mall.

Ralli Quays, is currently closed until further notice

Please arrive in plenty of time to ensure you are able to find the boarding point and do not miss the departure.

In order to board the vessel there is one step and four steps down.

Salford Quays:

Media City tram stop is the closest, (you can jump on to this line from Piccadilly railway station) once you disembark head towards the Lowry Outlet.  Once you are in the plaza between the Lowry Theatre and the shopping centre you will see the two white pillars of the Millenium Footbridge, head down the side of the bridge and you will see the vessel moored up.

Ralli Quay:

By rail this is two minutes walk from Salford Central railway station, or approximately fifteen minutes from Manchester Piccadilly Railway station. The vessel moors up on the Salford side of the river and can be seen from outside the People’s History Museum or the riverside on the Left Bank of Spinningfields.

 

The nearest parking for our Salford Quays boarding point is the Lowry Outlet Mall.

The nearest parking for our city centre boarding point at Ralli Quay is at the New Bailey NCP, or at Browncross Street

Booking

Once you have made your booking through our online tool you will receive your tickets by email.  Please bring either a paper or electronic copy of your tickets with you for your trip.

Payments are processed by our credit card service Stripe. Any refunds for cancellations within the cancellation policy of your trip can take up to ten days from the date we issue the instruction.

Gift Vouchers are available to buy for any our of tours. Please contact us if you wish to make a purchase.

During our City River Tours we off the option to disembark the vessel at either of our two stops. Return journeys are approximately every 75 minutes after you disembark and are subject to availability, we can not guarantee that there will be a seat for your return journey at the time you choose.

On board

The Princess Katherine is equipped with two toilets and is fully heated for cruises in the winter months. There is also an internal PA system for playing music or making announcements through the microphone.

Well behaved dogs are allowed on our City Tours trips Dogs are not allowed on our Kids Takeover trip or on our Santa Cruises.

The Princess Katherine has booth seating in the main cabin which sit six to a table. Outside we have two rows of fixed individual chairs along the length of the vessel. Seating is done on a first come first served basis and passengers may be required to share a table.

There is a full stocked licenced bar on board the vessel as well as facility for making hot drinks. We also serve a range of light snacks such as crisps and Eccles Cakes.

The Princess Katherine is not equipped to handle wheelchairs, there is one step up and four steps down in order to board the vessel.

Private Hire

In order to confirm a book Manchester River Cruises requires the payment of non refundable deposit of £200 for bookings over one hour. For bookings of one hour we require full payment of which we hold £200 as deposit. Payment is accepted by cheque or bank transfer.

We work with catering firm Impact Catering for most of our events. They have a good range of buffet selections with either hot or cold options. Alternatively you are welcome to provide your own food or use your own caterer. Alcoholic drinks can not be brought aboard and can only be supplied by us through our licenced bar.

The Princess Katherine is licensed to carry 80 passengers. Depending on your event and to some extent the weather we recommend sixty to eighty passengers.

Manchester River is flexible with what time and duration you want for your event but we operate a minimum three hour booking for Saturday evenings and two hours for Friday & Sundays. If you want a shorter trip we can accommodate you providing we are able to fit you into our existing schedule for public trips. We do not operate past 22:30/23:00 on any evening.
